100 Days Learning Celebration

                          This week is Maths week. 

Room 12 is also celebrating 100 days of learning. We have completed 100 days of learning on 5th July and are celebrating on Wednesday 16th of August.

We  talked about grouping in 2's, 4, 20's, 50's and 100. Here are some examples.

Our Focus for weeks 3 and 4

Ambury Farm Trip

We had an awesome time at the farm. Thank you to all our wonderful parent helpers for their help.
This made our trip extra exciting. Here are some photos of our trip.

At the Farm, we saw milking and crutching 

We got to feed and pat the animals at the farm.

We loved feeding the lambs they looked very cute when they were drinking milk from the bottle.

Welcome to Term 3

 Our Focus for the first 2 weeks

Well done Room 12 we had an amazing start . We are back with our learning and class routines.

Parents/ caregivers, please make sure students read every night. Talk to them about their learning in the class.

On Friday Owairaka School enjoyed the wonderful Orchestra presentation by the dedicated students from Auckland university. The orchestra was well introduced by the conductor.

Matariki

Matariki (Maori New Year) is on the 25^th of June. We will be talking about this celebration in class as well as looking at pictures of the constellation.  

                                                                           

Fractions learning in Room 12

This term we have been learning to identify and name fractions.

This is the song we have been learning to understand that fractions are actually parts of a whole

Abacus group in action, finding halves and quarters in shapes and problem-solving.

We know that two halves make a whole.

School Focus week 7 and 8

 Room 12 visit Nga Ringa Awhina every Monday's

Today Mr. Bennett showed us how to make tea with Kawakawa leaves.  We used hot water, Kawakawa leaves, ginger and honey. Some students liked it and some didn't.
